The very important 3-61 organ built ca. 1730 by Johann Patroclus Möller for the monastery in Dahlheim, Germany, exists with 80% of its pipes and six original spring-action windchests intact at the state church in Borgentreich, where it was moved in 1803. In need of restoration, this unusual Westphalian instrument is called by Christhard Mahrenholz, “a unique specimen which cannot be found at any other place . . .” Despite some defects, the charming and tuneful properties of many stops and the impressive plenum are played with convincing musicality by Jörg Kraemer, director of the organ museum in Borgentreich.
