Alain Series in 3 Volumes

JEHAN ALAIN (1911-1940) composed brilliantly and prolifically for the organ and in other forms during his brief life, cut short by war. The four-manual organ in his family home, built by his father, was the instrument upon which he and his sister (Marie Claire) learned to play. Later, it became integral to his composing. CD volume two below presents Alain’s music as played by the new owner of the organ, Guy Bovet, who has restored it and installed it in 1991 at Romainmôtier in Switzerland, where the Association Jehan Alain conducts classes and tours for hundreds of music lovers and organists annually. Note: The organ was and is situated in non-reverberant space.
