Amaral Vieira - Obras Completas para Órgão

Amaral Vieira, who at one time studied composition with Olivier Messiaen, is one of the most successful musicians in Brazil. He is known for his study and performance of the music of Liszt, (he gave the first public performance of Liszt's 19 Hungarian Rhapsodies in Latin America), and is also responsible for bringing previously unknown music to large audiences throughout Brazil, via the radio program Laudate Dominum.

Welsh-born organist Iain Quinn has given the United States premiere of all of the works on this disc. The instrument on which he performs, originally built as Aeolian-Skinner Opus 768-A, was moved from the St. Paul's Chapel of Trinity Church in lower Manhattan to the Church of the Intercession in Harlem, New York in 1968 by the Schlicker Organ Company.
