Paul Davis plays Andover Opus 114, recently completed in Christ Lutheran Church, Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Davis has served the church since 1965 and also taught at Berea College, the College of Notre Dame of Maryland, and the Peabody Institute, in addition to presenting recitals and lectures in the US, Germany, Austria, Denmark, Sweden, and Spain.
The new organ has 81 stops with both chancel and gallery divisions playable from two consoles. A nicely composed booklet is enclosed with the CD giving a complete stoplist and description of the tonal design. There are also several pictures of the consoles, cases and the carvings decorating them, and the handsome nave and gallery of the church.
