Art of the Chorale John Ayer, Organist Art of the Chorale lets John Ayer, director of the Memphis Boychoir and Chamber Choir, move to the organ bench for a great program of organ works based on chorales. The organ works are interspersed with one-minute settings of the chorales as sung by the choirs Ayers directs. The organs are two built by Nichols and Simpson of Little Rock, Arkansas: the large 3m instrument completed in 1990 for the large acoustic at Christ Episcopal Church, Little Rock; and the 30-rank instrument built in 1997 at Greene Chapel, Hendrix College, Conway, Arkansas.
