Bach Sacred Music Helmuth Rilling

Helmuth Rilling conducts, and also plays the organ, as he examines J.S. Bach's greatest sacred music, with excerpts from Bach's organ chorales, oratorios, passions and cantatas. Interspersed with the exquisite performances of the music, are Rilling’s informative explanations of Bach’s word painting which helped set the story of Christ’s life to music so effectively. The chamber choir, soloists, and orchestra appropriately perform these works in the Baroque style with excellent balance, phrasing, and diction.
