Bravo Dolce!

To celebrate not only the 10th anniversary of the Lied Organ, (110 ranks, built by Schoenstein), but also the arrival of Dr. John Cummins to the post of Minister of Music and Organist at First-Plymouth Congregation Church in Lincoln, Nebraska, Dr. Cummins makes this recording, featuring the same interesting program of music at his opening concert in Lincoln. Although many may know Dr. Cummins as an accomplished choral director, here he demonstrates his own virtuosity on the organ bench and the flexibility of the organ itself. The instrument features a double enclosed division, or a "swell box within a swell box", a characteristic found on some organs of the early twentieth century, here revived by the Schoenstein builders. The organ borrows several stops from the Ruth Amen Gallery Organ, also built by the Schoenstein firm.
