Burned in Boston Jan. 18 2005 -- 1859 E. & G. G. Hook 3m

When the First Baptist Church in the Jamaica Plain section of Boston burned overnight on Tuesday, January 18, one of the very few 3m Hook organs built before 1860 was destroyed. The beautiful organ was visited by OHS during its 2000 Convention and was played by Lois Regestein, a former organist of the church. Her performance is featured on the 4-CD set below, Historic Organs of Boston. Leonard Ciampa, organist of the church for many years, has recorded two CDs of Christmas music on the organ, also listed here.
