Cathedral Music at Freiburg The complex group of organs in Freiburg Münster is tailored to fill the needs of this vast space. There are four organs, two by Rieger (1964, 1965), one by Späth (1965), and one by Marcussen und Søn (1965), and they may be played separately or together, according to the needs of the choral and/or other music being performed.
Cathedral Organist Klemens Schnorr has chosen a set of pieces written between 1924 and 1974 to show the relation of the instruments to their acoustical surroundings, as well as to allow for demonstrations of the individual organs.
A bonus DVD at no extra charge is included in this production. It contains the same musical program as the CD, though the DVD slide show will probably play only on certain computers and not necessarily on American DVD players.
