Wolfgang Baumgratz plays four organs in the Cathedral at Bremen, Germany, with Christmas organ music composed over a period of 150 years by members of the Bach family, including several earlier than J. The organs include the huge 1894 Sauer organ of more than 100 ranks in the Bremen Cathedral, a gorgeous 1734 Gottfried Silbermann organ in the West Crypt of the Cathedral, a splendid 3m “Bach organ” built by Gebruder Van Vulpen of Utrecht in 1966 for the South Ambulatory of the Cathedral, and a small 2m 1991 Gerrit Klop organ in East Crypt.
