A Concert Organ Built on the Syncordia System

Massimo Nosetti explores secular music written for the concert organ. The new, 34-rank organ heard is in the Swiss village of Ursy and is equipped with hi-tech features from Syncordia, including, according to the CD booklet,“the first non-mechanical action in history to directly control the opening of a pipe organ’s pallets in direct proportion to the movement of the keys” thus ostensibly combining the virtues of electric action (for instance, a complete set of sub- and super couplers) with the intimate control of tracker action.
