Item# SIGCD176

Product Description

The Huddersfield Choral Society, with Andrew Kennedy, tenor; Neal Davies, bass; and conductor Joseph Cullen perform Stainerís 1887 meditation on the passion of Christ with careful attention to its Victorian style. The accompaniment, as Stainer wrote it, is provided by the organ. The highly respected Huddersfield Choral Society, now in its 175th year, is well prepared to provide a disciplined and musical rendering of this period work. The 1881 Father Willis organ, most recently renovated by Harrison & Harrison in 1980, is sensitively registered and played by Darius Battiwalla.
