Almost every member of an American choral group has probably sung at least one of the masterful and compelling arrangements of African-American spirituals done by William L. Dawson. They are sung here by the well-loved St. Olaf Choir, whose great choral tradition spans most of this century. Marvis Martin is the soprano soloist; Anton Armstrong conducts.
