Frauenkirche Dresden: Louis Vierne: Symphonies No. 3 and 5

Samuel Kummer plays Symphonies 3 and 5 of Louis Vierne at the Frauenkirche in Dresden, Germany. The original Silbermann organ at the Frauenkirche (which Bach played) was destroyed by bombs in 1945. While it was decided that while the Kern organ which would replace it should honor the memory of the Silbermann organ, new innovations in organ building, (such as a récit expressif), could not be ignored. The instrument includes 4 manuals, 67 registers and proves itself quite capable of playing 19th century works like that of Vierne.
