George Bozeman Plays Distler & Pepping George Bozeman visits an organ built in 1935 for the Ernst-Moritz-Arndt Church in Berlin-Zehlendorf by the Potsdam firm Alexander Schuke only five years after the church was erected. An unaltered representative of its era, the organ of 25 stops was forward-looking for its time and was an early example of the neo-Baroque style which was to follow. It was the first modern mechanical action instrument in Berlin. The works chosen are excellent examples of composition contemporary with the organ, and, Mr. Bozeman notes with typical good humor, with the player.
PEPPING: 18 Choral Preludes from Little Organ Book; Concerto I
DISTLER: Thirty Pieces, Op. 18 No. 1, Numbers 1-11
