Enthralled with the Baroque and the organs associated with classicism, Geraint Jones was sent on a recital tour of Germany as part of a scheme to normalize relations after the War, and came back ablaze with the excitement of discovery of the Schnitger at Steinkirchen, the Riepp at Ottobeuren, and the Stumm at Amorbach. He recorded these organs, and more, for the BBC and EMI. His splendid essay relates the revelations these organs brought to him, and how they informed his excellent playing.
