Gertrudenmusik 1607, Hamburg

So fine was the music at the 1607 dedication service of St. Gertrude’s Chapel in Hamburg, Germany, that the pastor of a nearby church described it in thorough detail such that all of the works were identified and deployment of musicians within the octagonal building was described. The service was recreated four centuries later. Ulricke Heider conducts the Göteborg Baroque Arts Ensemble, Baroque Soloists & Corona Artis with singers, soloists, and period instruments at Örgryte Church, Göteborg, with the 82-rank North German Baroque organ played by Magnus Kjellson.
