The Great “O” Antiphons

This Advent liturgy created by Peter Hallock combines readings, hymns, chant, and anthems by Ramsey, Howells, Weelkes, and Willcocks. The service is organized around Hallock’s setting of 7 great “O” Antiphons that form the basis of the hymn “O Come, O Come Emmanuel.” The all-male Compline Choir directed by Hallock sings in dialog with the Cathedral’s mixed choir directed by J. Melvin Butler, who also plays the 32’ Flentrop.
