St. Jacobi's Schnitger organ may represent the most important organ restoration in history. The famed Jürgen Ahrend meticulously studied the jumble of material and information resulting from earlier rebuildings and World War II bombs, then rewove it in 1993 as Arp Schnitger surely must have built this magnificent and large instrument in 1692. Konstantin Reymaier plays works which must have been known to this organ when the works were recently composed!

 Gerard Brooks plays the Organ of St. François de Sale, Lyon, France
Gerard Brooks plays music contemporary with and influenced by César Franck on what Aristide Cavaillé-Coll called “the most beautiful and perfect instrument that has come out of my factory to date." The organ was inaugurated by Widor in 1880 at the Church of St. François de Sales, Lyon, where Widor’s father had been organist. Unchanged, it preserves the colorful sounds of the 19th century symphonic organ. Performed are works by Franck and his contemporaries, including Chauvet, Salomé, Bernard, Widor, Rosseau, Libert, and Callaerts.

 Adrian Partington plays the Willis Organ of Reading Town Hall
"Father" Henry Willis built an organ for the Town Hall in Reading, England, in 1864, then enlarged and rebuilt it in 1882 for the much enlarged and remodelled hall. A thorough restoration is now complete after ten years, returning the organ entirely to its 1882 state.

 Roger Judd plays the Organs of St. Laurenskerk, Rotterdam
St. Laurens Church in Rotterdam, was completed in 1525, and only the walls and tower remained after a German air raid in 1940. The church was rebuilt 1947-1968. Three new organs were built by the Danish firm Marcussen & Søn, under Sybrand and Jürgen Zachariassen. Roger Judd of St. George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, who is an active musician and teacher in Great Britain, plays an eclectic program, from Sweelinck to Hurford with lots in between.

The superb German organist Johannes Unger, (who plays frequently in the U. S.), performs works of Reger, Karg-Elert and Ludwig Neuhoff, a late nineteenth century native of Leipzig. Unger plays the fine Sauer organ at St. Thomas Church. Built in 1889, the three manual organ of 115 ranks matches the repertoire ideally. The rarely heard Neuhoff sonata receives a convincing performance.
