Hans Henny Jahn Organ Hans Henny Jahnn (1894-1959) led organ reform in Germany and especially in the area of Hamburg, including the restoration in 1923 of the Schnitger organ at St-Jakobi and 100 other new organs and restorations. In the period 1925-31, he built a highly experimental (and controversial) organ for the Assembly Hall of the Lichtwarkschule in Hamburg with the 19 speaking stops arranged in masculine and feminine groups which are accessible through free combinations only. This, and more about the remarkable organ, now restored, is explained in English in the excellent CD booklet.
