Product Description

The 1755 Silbermann in Dresden sings again!
Hansjürgen Scholze plays the restored Gottfried Silbermann organ (originally completed in 1755) at the Cathedral in Dresden, Germany, where he has been Cathedral Organist since 1972.

Despite having its pitch changed significantly (from a= 415 to a=440), and modernization in the wind system, a restoration completed in 2002 allows this organ to perform as it did during Silbermann's lifetime. The original pitch has been restored, the wind system has been returned to Silbermann's design, and Silbermann's original keyboards have been returned to the console.
