Bob Van Camp at the Atlanta Fox plays
Mighty Mo the Möller Deluxe Pipe Organ
Four years after he began his tenure there, Bob Van Camp made the first recording of the Atlanta Fox organ. This CD is a digital remastering of that recording from the original session tapes. Listed as Opus 5566, Mighty Mo was one of the last theatre organs built by Möller and, when constructed, was the largest theatre organ constructed by any organ builder. Most of the organ is on 15 inches of pressure, while a separate Ethereal Organ of 11 ranks speaks on 6 inches of pressure.
It is no accident that the CD begins with Gone With The Wind. The recording was released at the same time the blockbuster movie was re-released…just another reason why Atlanta can be proud of Mighty Mo and the Atlanta Fox Theatre.
