Volume eight features Albert Bolliger playing works of the seventeenth, eighteenth and nineteenth centuries on five organs in four cities. The organ at the church of St-Etienne in Moudon was built in 1764 by Adrien-Joseph Pottier. It has been restored several times, most recently by Orgelbau Kuhn in 1974. The positive organ in the Hôpital des Bourgeois in Fribourg was built in 1667 by Sebaldus Manderscheidt, apprentice to Johann Geisler. Also in Fribourg, the organ of the Monastère Montorge was built by Aloys Mooser in 1811. Although restored several times, the organ retains its “slightly unequal” temperament. Following a devastating fire in Bulle, Mooser was commissioned to rebuild the organ there, which was completed in 1814. The fifth and final organ on this CD is the 1889 Friedrich Goll organ in the Reformed church of St. Saphorin.
