Peter King at the Klais organ of Bath Abbey
A talented player makes a virtuosic tour of works by Handel or inspired by him. The big pieces may have you holding your breath and tapping your foot at the same time! The tiny pieces for musical clock are just as charming, making this a very enjoyable recording.
The 1997 Johannes Klais organ is very colorfully registered on 62 stops on four manuals and pedal. Peter King, long the Abbey Organist and Master of Choristers, was responsible for overseeing its design and installation.
