The Organ at MacMurray College in Jacksonville, Illinois, has 59 ranks on 4 manuals arranged in 54 stops that are lovingly maintained and have never been altered since the organ was completed in 1952. Thus is stands as one of the very few G. Donald Harrison “signature” organs built by Aeolian-Skinner that speaks for itself and for its builder’s intent, “a landmark instrument capable of producing thrilling music,” writes organist Jay Peterson in the informative CD booklet. He plays brilliantly and knows this organ intimately, having been College Organist since 1975.
