Product Description

Frederick Hohman plays original symphonic organ music and organ transcriptions by Englishman Edwin F. Lemare on the 1912 Austin op. 323 which Lemare played as municipal organist of Portland, Maine. Lemare possesed an astounding virtuosity and musical facility which he brought to bear on his original compositions as well as his transcriptions of orchestral music. With a few stops of upperwork added by Austin in 1927, the organ now weighs-in with 103 ranks (four at 32' pitch) and most of them at 8 pitch for a kaleidoscope of symphonic color.
