Playing on a 2-8 Wurlitzer purchased from a Wisconsin theatre and transplanted to his New Jersey home, Lowell Ayars recorded a series of selections for the British radio program Pedal, Percussion & Pipes. After Ayars death, the organ was re-installed in Greek Hall in Macy’s department store, Philadelphia, formerly known as Wanamaker’s. In addition, this recording presents four other historic organs: a 3-17 Wurlitzer in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania; a 3-19 Möller theater organ in Philadelphia; a 3-31 Möller church organ in Bridgetown, New Jersey; and a Kimball 3-8 theatre organ in Pitman, New Jersey.
