Organ and organist are both featured when Philippe Delacour takes command of the Orgue Haerpfer Aubertin in Châteaux Salins, Moselle, France. The instrument was originally built in 1960 in a case which survived the French Revolution. Shortly thereafter, the decidedly old-fashioned en plein vent voicing of the instrument caused it to fall into oblivion until it was restored in 1995 by the Aubertin firm. The now-versatile instrument, which is housed in an acoustic close to French Baroque, proves itself quite capable in the German Baroque, as well as neoclassical and modern repertoire, especially under the capable fingers and feet of virtuoso Philippe Delacour.
