Alain Bouvet plays Mendelssohn on the 50-stop organ built by Cavaillé-Coll in 1885 for the Church of St. Etienne in Caen. Using the symphonic/romantic “lens,” provided by the organ, Bouvet explores the works from a different perspective than the more classical organ Mendelssohn would have known.
