The organ in Gloucester Cathedral, most recently overhauled by Nicholson & Co., has 58 stops on 4 manuals and pedal and speaks from the Quire screen to both the east and west portions of the church, with swell shades and separate sections of divisions operating accordingly.

Robert Houssart was born in Holland and has studied at St. Johnís College, Cambridge under Christopher Robinson and also with Nicolas Kynaston. He is presently Sub-Organist of the Chapel Royal and active in a number of musical enterprises.
