Organist Jan van Wingerden plays an interesting program of mostly nineteenth century music (with the exception of one Prelude and Fugue of J.S. Bach) on the symphonic 1995 Van den Heuvel Organ at the Katarina Church in Stockholm, Sweden.
Honored by the French journal Diapason, this recording offers a rare glimpse at the famous Compenius organ now in Frederiksborg Castle and a reconstructed organ built in 1996 using fragmentary evidence provided by a Renaissance instrument of now highly unusual style in the Sønderborg Castle.
Jan Lehtola plays Kalevi Aho's Three Interludes for Organ and 'Alles Vergängliche' Symphony for Organ on the 1907/2008 Akerman & Lund organ of St. Johannes Kyrka, Malmö, Sweden.
