After an intense study of counterpoint in 1845, Schumann wrote several works for the pedal piano inspired by his lifelong reverence for J S. Bach. Despite Schumannís fascination with a pedal keyboard rented for use with his piano, the instrument never became popular and these works were published in several different forms. This edition gathers the works and provides an authoritative performance edition for use with either pedal piano or organ. Henle Edition. Edited by Gerhard Weinberger.
