In 1883, Henry Willis built an organ for St. Davids Cathedral having 3 manuals and 31 stops. The instrument was rebuilt in 1953 and further work was done in 1980, 1986, and 1989. In 1998, Harrison & Harrison of Durham rebuilt the organ once again, once again placing most of the pedal division on the screen and re-instating the Willis Choir. The organ presently has 4 manuals and 54 stops. Since 2007, Alexander Mason has been Organist and Master of the Choristers at St. Davids Cathedral and Artistic Director of St. Davids Choral Festival.
