Three mini-recitals of German, English, and French music played by Roger Judd demonstrate the famous 1965 Harrison & Harrison organ of uncommon tonal splendor emerging from the pipes of earlier instruments, including much of the 1855 Gray and Davison. It is hard to imagine that the organ could be better than this! The organ is located in the Queen's Free Chapel of St. George on the grounds of her castle at Windsor. This chapel is not to be confused with the Willis organ completely destroyed by the recent fire in St. George's Hall and small chapel within the castle. WHITLOCK: Fanfare HARRIS: A Fancy; Prelude (from 4 Short Pieces) HOLLINS: Spring Song BREWER: Marche Heroique LEFEBURE-WELY: Sortie in E-Flat VIERNE: Impromtu BOELLMANN: Suite Gothique GIGOUT: Scherzo WIDOR: Toccata (5th Symphony) BACH: Toccata & Fugue in d (BWV 565) BRAHMS: Es ist ein Ros' entsprungen SCHUMANN: Sketch in D-Flat MENDELSSOHN: War March of Priests
