The always fascinating sounds of St. Sulpice are heard in a program of fine romantic works performed by Joseph Nolan, formerly of Her Majesty’s Chapels Royal and now organist and Master of the Choristers at St. George’s Cathedral, Perth, Australia.
While most of the works performed will be familiar, the Thalben-Ball compositions may not be. Toccata Beorma was composed in recognition of an honorary doctorate awarded to Thalben-Ball in 1972 and the Poema was composed later. Beorma is the name of the founder of Birmingham, England.
