Suzanne Chaisemartin: Tribune libre
Suzanne Chaisemartin, student of Marcel Dupré and appointed acting organist at St. Sulpice while Dupré made recital tours, surveys her own career and the organs in three of its most important venues, including the Cavaillé-Colls at St. Etienne in Caen and St. Sulpice in Paris, as well as the Barker/Peschard/Cavaillé-Coll/Mutin at St. Augustin in Paris where she has been titular organist since 1949. Her commentaries are recorded in French and beautifully translated into German and English in the CD booklet. Marcel Dupré himself is heard playing on his house organ at Meudon and Chaisemartin closes the CD performing an extract from Dupré’s Le Tombeau de Titelouze.
