Voices In The Wind

The most complete and communicative TV documentary about the organ and the way it works yet devised, this fine, 50-minute program draws one’s attention and holds it through an explanation of the organ’s many types of mechanism, the way pipes produce tone, the instrument’s history, acoustical theory, and visits to two organbuilders’ factories. Seen nationally on the public broadcasting program The Nature of Things, this production is now available for purchase on VHS videocassette. The soundtrack is serviceable, but in mono sound of the quality typical of TV ca. 1984, when it was produced.
